Brent MacDonald Director & President of the National Board
Brent is a veteran Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer and community leader based in Ottawa, Ontario. He is the Immediate Past President of the Ottawa Chapter of the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society and also served the national charity as Vice-President of the national board for the Society’s Eastern Region. Following a distinguished career in the RCMP, he has continued to dedicate his time to public service through extensive volunteerism and non-profit leadership.
Randall Kyte Director
Randy is deeply committed to community service and nonprofit engagement. Since 2017, he has been an active volunteer with the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society, serving as a Courier for the transport of life-saving stem cells and CAR-T cell therapies across Canada. In addition to his operational role, he contributes to the Society’s strategic planning and organizational analysis, providing valuable insights drawn from his professional expertise in logistics, risk management, and program delivery.
Matt Denniston Director
Matt, Bruce Denniston's yougest child, is a mechanical engineer in Powell River, BC. Matt has been a board member since 2013.
Sandra Conlin Director
Sandra Conlin is a distinguished leader in public service, with a 37-year career in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), culminating in her appointment as Assistant Commissioner. Rising through the ranks from Special Constable to one of the most senior positions in the force, she built a legacy rooted in operational excellence, ethical leadership, and strategic intelligence.
Sandra brings to any board a rare blend of integrity, operational insight, proven expertise in oversight, risk management, organizational ethics, and non-profit governance, and a deep commitment to public good. She brings a values-driven approach to board service, grounded in public accountability, strategic foresight, and a strong commitment to community and country.
George MacDonald Director
George Macdonald served 38 years in the Canadian Forces. Since full retirement in 2017, he has focused on several volunteer activities in addition to being an avid golfer. He remains an active volunteer with the Bruce Denniston Stem Cell Society. He has been a presiding official for citizenship ceremonies and a medical courier. He has also been involved for about 18 years in language tutoring with People, Words & Change.
James McCuaig Director
Jim brings over four decades of leadership in public and non-profit governance. A bilingual seasoned executive, strategist, and advisor, he has contributed to both national and international organizations, shaping impactful policies, programs, and partnerships. He brings strategic insight, operational excellence, and deep cross-sectoral knowledge to organizations committed to advancing public good.

Glen Peacock Director
Has lived in the Ottawa area for the last 27 years and a teacher since 1997. I am an active member of my community association. I jumped into the Bruce Denniston Society because my wife has incurable blood cancer. (A myeloproliferative neoplasm called essential thrombocytosis.) She is currently as stable as you can be and she is my inspiration. I love being able to do something good in this crazy world we live in.
Robert Taylor Director
Bob Taylor is a retired senior officer with over 35 years of service in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Bob has a long-standing record of volunteerism in community and board service in Alberta and Ontario, having been involved with various organizations as a member, leader and/or board director. As a long standing active member of the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society, Bob has provided service as a volunteer for swabbing events and transporting stem cells, supported stem cell transportation as a courier, led fundraising and communications efforts, served as a board member and is a regular volunteer for recruitment events.
Mark Trapenier Director
Mark’s combination of deep technical expertise, long-standing dedication to volunteerism, and proven leadership in logistics and operations makes him a strong, strategic, and highly capable Director for the National Board. Mark has shown a deep commitment to supporting the Society’s mission for 20 years and he has expressed his readiness to take on national responsibilities, including:
• Membership engagement and development strategies
• Providing leadership and technical support operations
• Support enhancements to IT systems and infrastructure to streamline internal processes
